48-hour project updates
« on: July 23, 2010, 11:18:47 PM »
Hi All,

Both GRIFIN teams that made films for last week's 48-hour film project-Madison should be congratulated for their efforts. Both films were screened last night at the Orpheum Theater in Madison and the audience had great responses to both films. The awards program will be held on Sunday, August 1.

I watched both of them and am so impressed at the quality of the acting and writing and production work the teams did. I might be a bit biased given that they are our films but honestly, they are above average.

We will be showing the films at the next GRFI meeting and inviting friends and family of the casts and crews to come and see the films. We will use this time to discuss the fun and pit-falls that go with this extreme filmmaking contest. Even if you didn't take part in the contest, we hope you will come.

See you on August 14, at 10:00am.

I had a great time working for team Charlie - even though we drew 'musical'  ;)

I saw both films too and I concur with what Suzie said...above average work for an extreme event such as this.  And the really cool part about these 48 hour projects is that I hear so many good ideas, have some of my own, and get inspired to make some shorts.  Just gotta find the time!

It was the first extended shoot with my Rebel T2i, and it was really cool working with that setup.  Maybe if i can get some gumption i'll write up a little review and post it in the tech section.

See you at the meeting on the 14th

We had a ball. Everybody worked so hard, and yet we were laughing most of the time. Dean did a great job of editing and Andy makes the whole time press seem like nothing at all. Ted handled the new sound gear like a seasoned pro. We had some new people there this year and I think expanded our group as a result. Thanks to everyone for a job well done.

By the way, a special thanks to Shelly who gave Dean the type of script noted that one needs to edit quickly.

Looking forward to next year......hey team, want to go again?

Charlie

Congratulations to the "Special Delivery" cast and crew on your win for best use of genre in Madison.
